‘Flutter’ is in the key of D flat major and 3/4 time. This is another rare piece from my catalogue that includes a string section to support the piano. In composing this song I wanted to convey the flutter of the human heart/soul in the process of falling in love.
The song starts off softly in expressive repetitive patterns, followed by the main melody which soars over the top of fluid arpeggios.
One of my favorite parts of the song is around the 3:02 mark. I hope you enjoy listening to this song as much I enjoyed composing and recording it.

This has always been one of my favorites. It’s nice to know the backstory.
When I listen to it I feel renewed. It’s how I feel after a tough day, a deep cry, and then the relief or peace after I have resolution.
It is ascending, yet tender. Thanks for you beautiful music Philip!
Thank you my friend! I always enjoyed my classes with you in college. You are one of my favorite teachers. 🙂
