Now if we were to build a C Major 9th Chord it will include the following notes of the scale C E G B D. That’s 1 3 5 7 9 degrees of the scale. Let’s see that chord on the treble staff…

Major 9th chords are actually very colorful and can be built off any Major scale using that same pattern.
