‘Journey Home’ is the first piano composition I’ve ever written. For those of you that may not know, I started playing piano at the age of 20 and mostly self taught. However I did study music in college and eventually earned a bachelor of science in Music Therapy.
During one of my music theory and composition classes, we were given the assignment of composing a short and simple piece of music. As I drove home from campus I had this idea in F Major rolling around in my head. Song came out quickly on the piano. It’s short and sweet and is named after that very journey home. I sat on the song for many years before finally releasing it.
