‘Distant Memory’ is in the key of A minor and in a 3/4 meter. As I’ve stated before, several of my compositions have been born out of dark times in life. Distant Memory is about having moved so far above and beyond those dark times that they are well… just that. A distant memory.
What I enjoy most about this composition is the steady simplicity of the arpeggio triads in the left hand. The simple right hand melody and how that progresses into slightly more challenging patterns all while keeping the simple/steady left hand pattern. It’s a great composition to challenge beginner players while being immediately accessible to intermediate players.
