The origins of Jingle Bells Dates back to 1850 by James Pierpont in Massachusetts. Originally published under the title ‘One Horse Open Sleigh’ it wasn’t officially a Christmas song until about 10-20 years later. And it wasn’t recorded until 1889 and re-recorded again in 1898.
Since then the song has gone on to become one of the most beloved secular Christmas songs of all time. Recorded many times over through the decades by various artists.
My version of the song is in G Major and begins with a sweeping arpeggio up and down the keyboard. The melody starts on the chorus of the song in a dreamy ethereal and atmospheric manner. I really love this song. It’s one of my favorites from my album ‘The Magic of Christmas’
